Cyrus the Virus
As far as themes go, choosing one about bacteria and microbes is an unusual move but Yggdrasil is known for being highly innovative, and despite the slightly queasy nature of the game, it is a lot of fun.
You can look forward to a range of features including a bonus round, autoplay function and with an RTP of 96.30% you can be certain of some nice wins and who knows you might just land that jackpot of 2000x your stake!
About the Manufacturer
Taking their name from the mythical tree in Norse mythology that connects the nine worlds together, Yggdrasil is Scandinavian Software Company who is renowned within the online gaming world for developing stunning high-definition games that boast impressive graphics and daring animations. Having won numerous industry awards, most recently Innovator of the year at The International Gaming Awards; a prestigious honour indeed they are hard at work crafting the next big release that is set to wow.
Appearance and Sound Effects
The game and its accompanying soundtrack fit perfectly together and really capture the scientific theme. The reels themselves feature a total of seven different microbe symbols, some of them looking particularly formidable. The cell in which these harmful invaders occupy is has a green glow to it, and the sides have small holes in the sides that let the germs in and out.
All of the symbols come with multipliers of their own and information on these, and the winning payline combinations can be found in the paytable at the bottom of the screen. The highest paying germs are the orange one with fangs that will give you 400x your stake for getting five, while the purple one with tentacles will offer you 2000x your wager.
Watch out for the game's Wild symbol which is the vibrant purple germ which will substitute for all other symbols on the reels and will expand the entire reel. It will only ever land in the third reel, and when it does, it will trigger a re-spin. This game is perfect for both high-rollers and those who like to bet small with a minimum stake of £0.10 and a maximum of £40 per spin.
Playing on Mobile Devices
Cyrus the Virus has not yet been optimised to be compatible with iOS and Android software on mobile and tablet devices so, for the time being, this game is only available through desktops. This is sure to inconvenience those who enjoy playing on the go, but despite this restriction, the symbols and graphics do look better on a much bigger screen.
We are fans of Yggdrasil games in general and whilst this release is not as visually impressive as some of their previous releases we really enjoyed this thoroughly different video slot. Cyrus the Virus certainly has its moments that make you feel a bit uneasy but with so many opportunities to land a win and the chance to see some quirky cartoon microbes spinning across the screen it is well worth it. Give it a go yourself today and see what you think.
